I grew up in Bloomfield, a part of Pittsburgh.

We went through many of the same things I’ve been reading about on this web site. As I think back on those years what I remember most is this feeling of all being together. When I try to describe it to my grand-kids today, I say it was if you were walking down the street and everybody you saw was a wearing a Pirates or Steelers hat. Everybody was your friend and on your side.
Another thing I remember is sort of funny looking back at it. If we were outside playing cowboys and Indians some kids would play the cowboys and some would play the Indians, but if we played war, no one wanted to be the Germans or the Japanese and most of us had Italian last names.
