Your Story
I was born in March of ’42. I would not recall anything of the war personally, but I did hear of the ‘war’ from my classmates in the orphanage in Italy. I would attend high school in Iowa and it was there that would learn of the war. I had been in so called ‘enemy’ territory and my country would change sides as it were. It was after the end of the war that I recall two men digging up a bomb out of the ground and seeing two soldiers in uniform march down the road in front of our house on Via Zabbo in Gallio in Tyrolia Italy. that is what I recall of the war after the end. Sorrrry.
